Trainings on Prevention and Counteraction to Radicalism and Extremism in Bishkek

On 22-23 August 2019 the State Commission for Religious Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCRA KR) and the Center for the Study of Religious Situation of the SCRA KR, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the State Agency for Local Self-Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Kyrgyz Republic, conduct training in Bishkek for employees of state bodies and local self-government bodies (LSG), law enforcement and security agencies on the topic “Prevention and Counteraction to Radicalism and Extremism in the Kyrgyz Republic”.  

This training is aimed at strengthening the skills and capacity of state bodies, law enforcement agencies, local self-government bodies to prevent the spread of radical and extremist ideologies, as well as on specific issues of countering extremism and terrorism for law enforcement agencies, through the development of training materials and the provision of training for employees of state bodies and LSG, law enforcement and security agencies in all regions of the country. 

This training is conducted as part of the implementation of the Concept Paper on State Policy in the Sphere of Religion of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2014-2020 and the Program of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on countering extremism and terrorism for 2017-2022.

The training partner is UNDP within the framework of the project "Inclusive Governance and Justice System for Preventing Violent Extremism".
